In keeping with its bold approach, Maison Langlois pushes the boundaries of winemaking convention to craft elegant and creative premium wines. The Beaugrands parcel is an excellent example of this unwavering commitment to fine wine.
A remarkableterroir
Planted in 1950, Les Beaugrands is unique among the parcels cultivated by the Maison.
The vineyard is situated on hills with slopes formed by stony soil that have a gradient of 10% to 25%.
Facing due south, its vines bask in the warmth of the sun’s soothing rays and are less vulnerable to the unpredictable spring frosts.
An unusual parcelfor an extraordinaryChenin Blanc
Located in Saumur-Champigny, an appellation celebrated for its Cabernet Franc grapes, the Beaugrands vineyard has a long-standing tradition of producing fine red wines.
Over time, however, Maison Langlois came to realise the enormous potential of this parcel for another, more surprising creation: sweet white wines. This terroir is ideally suited to the uniform development of noble rot, which helps concentrate sugar in grapes, resulting in a unique wine with a golden colour, silky mouthfeel, richly aromatic nose and lovely fresh acidity.
Breaking with tradition, the estate chose a different path and Les Beaugrands became the home of their deliciously sweet cuvée.
